Here’s a cheery note from trombonist Dave Schmalz, who leads my brother’s favourite local Dixieland jazz band with the quaint name, Howlin’ Dog Vintage Jazz Band. Yes, there is a dog, Jake, but can’t say I’ve heard him howl.
“It’s that time of year,” says Dave, “when a little shot of live music and good food can go a long way.
